222 Torches on the Krk Bridge

One of the most emotional events of the year on Krk takes place on August 4th.

At 9:00 PM, the Krk Bridge is illuminated by 222 torches in memory of the 222 Croatian defenders from the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County who lost their lives during the Croatian War of Independence.

The ceremony marks the beginning of Croatia's Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Defenders, celebrated on August 5th.
