Camping on Krk: Campsites, Rules and Tips
Krk is hugely popular with campers: you can drive onto the island without a ferry, and there are campsites to suit every taste – from large sites with pools to small family-run places right by the sea. Here you'll find the most important info for your camping holiday on Krk.
Campsites on Krk
You'll find campsites in almost all the coastal towns, for example in Krk, Punat, Baška, Malinska, Njivice and Stara Baška. Many are right on the water, with pitches under pine or olive trees. Krk also has naturist campsites. You'll find all the campsites with their locations and photos below.
Wild camping is prohibited
Wild camping is not allowed in Croatia, not even in a motorhome in car parks. Heavy fines apply. So always spend the night at a campsite or an official pitch.
Booking in high season
In July and August, the campsites by the sea are often fully booked. If you want a specific pitch, you should book early. In the pre- and post-season you can usually find a spot at short notice too, and you'll pay less.
Getting there by motorhome and caravan
The Krk Bridge is toll-free. In strong Bora winds, however, it can be closed to caravans, motorhomes and motorcycles. If there's a storm warning, check the current traffic report. Some roads in the south of the island are narrow and winding – drive especially carefully there.
Supplies and waste disposal
There are service stations for fresh water and waste disposal at the campsites. You'll find supermarkets in all the larger towns, where you can also buy gas and camping supplies.
