Getting to Cres

By car from Germany or Austria there are two main routes to Cres.

Route 1 takes you via Rijeka and the Krk bridge to Valbiska. From there the Jadrolinija ferry (line 332) gets you to Merag in about 25 minutes, around 10 km from Cres town.

Route 2 goes via Slovenia and Istria to Brestova. From there the ferry (line 334) takes about 20 minutes to Porozina in the north of the island.

Both ferries run all year. Tickets are available online or at the port – expect queues in summer.

Without a car, you can reach Cres daily on the Jadrolinija catamaran from Rijeka.

Good to know: Croatia charges motorway tolls, and Slovenia requires a vignette.
