Valun parish church and Valun tablet

The original Valun tablet, one of the oldest Croatian written records in Glagolitic script, is set into the sacristy wall of the parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary, built in 1851. It was found near the church of St Mark above the village. Right next door, a small Glagolitic lapidarium on the walls of the Toš restaurant, a former olive press, shows reconstructions of other early inscriptions from the area.
