Tramuntana forest

The Tramuntana in the north of Cres contrasts with the barren south: dense oak and chestnut forests, mossy rocks, cooler summers and sometimes snow in winter. Seven mountain trails, seven hiking trails and three bike routes, mostly on old village paths, lead past abandoned hamlets, drystone walls and sheep pastures. Along the way you will find orchids, butterflies, herbs and the labyrinths near Beli. The Banić pit, about 100 m deep and the deepest on the island, is also here.
