Drivenik Castle

The best-preserved castle of the Vinodol valley stands above Lake Tribalj. Originally wooden, it was rebuilt in stone between the 13th and 15th centuries, with round corner towers, a moat and a drawbridge. King Béla IV granted it to the Frankopans, and the Vinodol Code of 1288 lists it as one of the nine towns. Below lies the 15th-century Church of St Stephen.
