Kaštel – former Pauline monastery

Crikvenica owes its name to this monastery: in 1412 Nikola IV Frankopan had a church built for the Pauline order at the mouth of the Dubračina, and crikva is the local word for church. The monastery later became the Hotel Kaštel, with the Church of the Assumption beside it. A short detour from the harbour.
