Vela Luka Coastal Hike from Baška
One of the most scenic hikes on the island of Krk leads from Baška to the remote Vela Luka bay. The trail starts at Baška’s harbor and follows the rugged coastline with panoramic sea views, rocky landscapes and untouched nature. The bay itself is a quiet, natural beach with crystal-clear water, ideal for swimming and relaxing after the hike. A return by taxi boat is possible and can be arranged in advance with prices around €15 per person.
Routes and Hiking Details
From Baška harbor, the road transitions into a hiking path near Bunculuka Camping Resort by Valamar. From this point, the route is clearly marked and easy to follow. The distance is approximately 6 km one way, with a hiking time of 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on pace. The terrain is rocky and uneven, making the hike moderately difficult. There is little natural shade along the route, so proper footwear, sun protection and enough water are essential. Vela Luka is mostly unspoiled, though a small seasonal restaurant may be available.
