St. Donatus’ Church
Just a few minutes from Punat, near Kornić, you’ll find the small but remarkable Church of St Donatus. Located right by the roadside at the bottom of Punat Bay, it’s easy to miss but definitely worth a stop.
Built around the 12th century, this simple stone church is an important example of early Romanesque architecture. Unlike many other churches, it has no richly decorated façade, which makes its minimal and authentic look even more special.
Despite its size, St Donatus is considered one of the most significant sacral monuments on the Croatian coast, often mentioned alongside famous churches in Zadar and Nin.
