Chapel of Saint Martin
The small Chapel of Saint Martin is located on the way to the main square of Vrbnik, close to the former city gates that once led into the old walled town. It was built in 1561 by the priest Martin Vitezić, which is confirmed by a Glagolitic inscription on the chapel.
Over time, the chapel fell into ruin, but it was restored in 1891 by Dinko Vitezić, a lawyer and member of parliament in Vienna, who was later buried there in 1904. The Glagolitic inscription on the chapel was written by his friend Vatroslav Jagić, a well-known Slavic scholar.
