History of Stara Baška

Stara Baška, located in the southern part of Krk Island, dates back to the 14th century. According to local history, the village was founded by refugees fleeing from the Turks, who established a small shepherd settlement in this isolated area. Surrounded by mountains on one side and the sea on the other, the village remained difficult to access for a long time and was once only reachable by boat. Today, Stara Baška is known for its peaceful atmosphere, fishing heritage, and beautiful beaches, some of which can still only be reached by sea.
