Vrbnik Bell Tower

The bell tower in Vrbnik is around 30 metres high and was built in 1527. It is one of the town’s most iconic landmarks. According to local legend, it was built using treasure from the Frankopan castle in Gradec.

The bell still rings today, not only marking time but also changing its sound depending on the occasion. Right next to the tower you’ll find a loggia, which used to be open and is now closed.

Since 2000, the inside of the tower has been used as the Museum of Visual Identity, created by students and professors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.

👉 Sometimes you can even go up the tower and enjoy a stunning view over Vrbnik. It depends on the day, so it’s best to check locally.
