Gradina Ledenice Hillfort

On a rocky ridge above Ledenice lie the ruins of an old fortified settlement, abandoned in the early 19th century. Walls survive along with remains of some 72 to 74 houses, St Stephen’s church which collapsed in 1988, and the circular cemetery of St George. Ledenice is mentioned in 1288 at the signing of the Vinodol Code and was considered the key to Vinodol. From the viewpoint you see Povile and Klenovica, and the spot is said to have inspired August Šenoa.
