Carmen Sylva Ruhe

This resting spot on the forest path above Opatija commemorates Carmen Sylva, the pen name of Queen Elisabeth of Romania. The walkway named after her leads through old forest, past the Vrutki spring where women once washed laundry and a stone bench carved into the rock where she is said to have found inspiration for her poems. Allow about an hour and a half for the walk.
