Villa Angiolina – Croatian Museum of Tourism

In 1844 the Rijeka nobleman Iginio Scarpa built the villa as a summer residence in honour of his late wife. This marks the start of Opatija’s tourism history, as guests such as Ban Josip Jelačić spread word of the mild climate. Today the villa houses the Croatian Museum of Tourism, which shows how tourism developed in the country.
