Kastav Old Town and St Helen viewpoint
Kastav sits on a 365 m hill above Kvarner Bay, just northwest of Rijeka. Its small old town has the 14th-century Holy Trinity church with some of the region’s oldest Glagolitic inscriptions, the Baroque parish church of St Helen from 1709, the loggia of 1571, the town gate of 1731 and the remains of the unfinished Crekvina church. The terrace in front of St Helen offers a sweeping view of the bay. The town statute is dated 1400.
