Astronomical Centre Rijeka

Observatory and planetarium in an old fortress above the city, described by the tourist board as unique in Croatia. It opened in 2009, with the telescope under a moving dome in place since 2001. The planetarium dome seats up to 52 for films about the universe. There are also workshops, a bar and a terrace overlooking Kvarner Bay. Reachable by city bus and fully accessible. Great for rainy days with kids.
