Benčić Art Quarter and Children’s House

On the site of an 18th-century sugar refinery, later a tobacco and engine factory, a cultural quarter grew up for the 2020 Capital of Culture. It holds the Sugar Palace with the City Museum, the MMSU, the City Library and the Children’s House, which the tourist board calls the first large building in Croatia designed entirely for children. There is also a park and resting spots by the open stream.
