Rijeka Tunnel

A military tunnel about 330 m long, dug by Italian forces early in World War II as an air-raid shelter and used during the bombings of 1944 and 1945. The entrance is next to St Vitus’ Cathedral, and it runs beneath the Old Town to the courtyard of Dolac primary school. Original air-defence signs survive in places. A cool, short detour that fits easily into an Old Town walk.
